I came across this online and decided to try it myself, all you need is a piece of paper (that won’t let light through). The size of the heart or whichever shape you’d like to cut will depend on the aperture value you camera can go down to.

The best thing to do is experiment, bokeh. Look for any reflection or light that will create bokeh and you’ll have fun with the results.
